About the Author of 'Lest We Forget – Countryside Recollections’, Thelma J Lougher.

Each poem reflects the diversity of the Country life that Thelma has grown up in, first as a farmer’s daughter, then as a farmer’s wife. Her depth of knowledge is translated into snapshots of the beauty, peace and passion that the country side holds for her. The pages record memories of days during her life as a country girl, who appreciates the beauty of her surroundings. Her love of animals free in their natural environment and her concern for the struggle in the country side, to keep a healthy population of wildlife, despite the encroaching urbanisation.

The book is illustrated by prints of original oil paintings and sketches by the author, Thelma J Lougher.
